Selection/prioritization criteria are intended to help HTA doers, funders and other stakeholders select, among new technologies, the ones for which complementary studies are really worth performing.
The document aims at improving the transparency of decision making and should contribute to optimise the use of limited resources.
These criteria are intended to be applied for new technologies in the context of Access with evidence generation mechanisms. However, they may have a broader scope and be used to select technologies that are already covered and diffused but for which additional data on their effective impact in current practice is needed.
The development of selection/prioritisation criteria was based on a literature review, surveys of WP7A partners, Stakeholder Advisory Group consultation and public consultation.
The document contains the list of criteria, followed by more detailed explanations of each criterion.
The use of these criteria will be monitored and evaluated during the next 3-year EUnetHTA Joint Action 2, 2012-2015
